Many that have either been in the Washington DC area on temporary assignments (military, corporate or civilian) for any extended period of time, know that there is a serious premium on living close to work because of the almost unreal traffic that burdens many a commuter. With the summer season upon us, we’d like to reach out and try to keep those traveling to the DC area in the know of some of the activities and some of the impending changes to the Metro Rail system in the coming months. Something of a good news/bad news item that a responsible informational blogger like myself should share with the fine readers of this blog.
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first- Metro Rail will have scheduled shut downs for extended periods of time at certain intervals of the lines. What we can expect is major delays and congestion traveling to and from the District- what’s new? You can read more about it here to see if there’s any changes coming to your commute. Luckily for Crystal Quarters Corporate Housing guests, they are likely to be close to their offices and places of interest in the area. So, any disruptions in this transitional phase for Metro Rail can be mitigated by staying close to all the action this summer.
